The colloquial definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. If you were irked by a mistake that someone made, then know that every time you talk about it, you are keeping it alive. You have a choice: Play the "Yes, but..." game and keep talking about the things that others have done that bother you, or genuinely let them go, stop talking about t...

    When I get anger, I wish to control and find a calm way for saying all the things that just run out of my mouth, which doesn't mean that they aren't true. But the way is so wrong 😔. I sad a hundred times that next time I would say the things more calm and without yelling 😔

    What is a lashing out trigger for me is when others are supposed to be taking care of my mental health they are not doing it & they threaten retaliation or retaliate by taking away my support system which is gaslighting. Also my boss & landlord (same person) telling me not to talk about somethings that make me feel very unsafe where I live & work. I said something & now I’m afraid he will fire me & I’ll lose my medical insurance & im afraid of being evicted. These people shouldn’t be in my life. But due to my disabilities & circumstances I am trapped. The mental health program won’t let me leave.

    - [0:00] 🗣 "Don't yell at people" and "You need to calm down" are ineffective responses to anger. - [2:02] 🛑 Don't take angry outbursts personally; recognize they're about the individual's emotions, not you. - [3:35] 💔 Understand that anger often stems from underlying hurt and pain. - [5:11] 🤝 Approach angry individuals with empathy and offer to be a safe space for them to express their feelings.

    - [0:17] 🧠 The outside world doesn't inherently make us angry; our view of it does. - [1:41] 🏃‍♂ Aligning expectations with reality helps handle life's disappointments better.

    Do people always do the best they can. Or do they do what they want. That is different, that is self indulgence, isn’t it? It’s like a diet, baked chicken with veg would be the best choice, but the lasagna sounds so good I went with that. Also, choices. Are often made with self delusional starting points such as the person wants to protect the other person from truth. I like your asymmetrical and hindsight bias concepts and will try and bring them into my thinking patterns in an effort to be more humble and curb my lifelong judgmental attitude. I spent 32 years in Human Resources, a judgmental attitude nightmare. I have some work to do.

    My issue is that I am the one that everyone asks for help. It use to be a point of pride, made me feel like a good person. Know it makes me furious. Everyone around me can't help me back. It's not that they won't, it's that they can't and I don't feel good about helping ANYONE anymore

    • @DrChristianConte
      @DrChristianConte 15 днів тому

      One of the most effective ways to avoid taking things personally is to imagine that someone else was in your place that day. Chances are, that whoever was in your place would have received the same interaction. This exercise can be a really helpful way to recognize that the person was going to respond that way, regardless of who was the target of their emotion. I hope this helps! Sending you much peace! 🙏🏼

    Woooowww this is just too good. So I knew this but the targeted person I was trying to explain this to said IM THE MANIPULATOR which if im not wrong that's considered reflective narcissism, but also the person who was boosting the target persons esteem kept convincing the target person that she doesnt need to be spoken to that way as if I was saying things wrong when in fact I was simply trying to open the target persons eyes. Now that target person is gone and believed and fell into that master manipulators lies and moved in with that person. How long do u think it will take before the targeted person finally opens their mind and realizes?

    I'm not sure this would work because in my experience some people start to really push your buttons when you show you're angry, it's like they see a weak spot or it's funny to them and they have to exploit it.Then of course you get angry and the first thing they do is call the cops and tell them they're scared.

    I get really aggrieved if someone drives badly or cuts me up etc... I've been a better driver over the last year or so so when I encounter a poor driver I say to myself "have I ever done something like that?". Usually the answer is yes which helps me to excuse their driving and carry on with my day... It still lingers in me for a while but I get over it without reacting.

    How to not be dominant? I don't know how but always there's this ego which wants to be the best at everything, I myself laugh at it at happy times, but as soon as I hurt someone with my words, then that ego just disappears and I become overflown with guilt. Then I just start feel weak and alone. Why does this happen and how should we deal with it, if you can understand what I mean? Thanks for the vid btw.
